The prestigious Institute of Applied Health Science, located in USTC Academic Building Foy’s Lake, Chittagong (Bangladesh), is a private medical college. It was established in 1990 after a modest start on 13 May 1989. It is recognized as one of the top Medical Colleges in Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. Nurul Islam, the founder and chairman of this eminent Medical College, was responsible for a dynamic academic team and 300+ students. The Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), has also recognized MBBS degree. The courses are also approved by the UGC and Ministry of Education of Bangladesh.

MBBS in Institute of Applied Health Science - Eligibility Criteria

Admission Testis administered centrally by the AHS and is closely supervised.

Some of the highlights include:

1. Students applying for the program must be at least 17 years of age by 31 July, and no older than 25 years.
2. Students must have attained marks of more than 60% in 10th or 12th grade and a minimum of 7 GPA.
3. The essential requirement for admission is passing the NEET exam.
4. Students with refractory, mental or physical disorders cannot be admitted to the University of Alberta.

Duration of MBBS at Institute of Applied Health Science

To complete your graduation at the Institute of Applied Health Science, Bangladesh it takes 6 years. There are two parts to the study:

1. 5 years of graduation classroom study (theoretical and research-based)

The admission process for the Institute of Applied Health Science is as follows:
1. To be admitted to Institute of AHS, a student must have passed NEET.
2. Students must secure 60 % marks in all three subjects in NEET.
3. The prerequisites to be admitted to Institute of Applied Health Science include BIOLOGY, PHYSICS, and CHEMISTRY.
4. All applications are subject to a rigorous evaluation by Director General Health Services.
5. DGHS organize admission test called Chittagong Medical University Entry exam. Based on this merit, students have chance to be admitted.
6. Also published is a waiting list. Waiting list students may apply for admission to any vacant seat after the deadline.
