Karnali Academy of Health Sciences was established on 20th October 2011. It provides quality health care and education in remote and backward areas of Nepal such as Humla, Jumla, Kalikot, Dolpa and Mugu districts. It is an autonomous health sciences university offering innovations in education, practice, research work and scholarships for Nepalese students in the above fields. The guiding principles of this organization are value, the strength of a shared mission and vision in planning activities, the highest ethical principles, good governance and quality improvement, and meeting the needs of education and health services for marginalized communities.

KAHS participates in fundraising, sponsorships, donations and volunteering from abroad to support their collective effort for health and education in underserved areas. The sister organization of KAHS is Karnali Academy Teaching Hospital. This hospital offers comprehensive healthcare services such as emergency, outpatient, inpatient, OT, maternity, diagnostics, blood bank, community health services, ambulance, telemedicine, and aftercare.

MBBS in Karnali Academy of Health Science - Eligibility Criteria

1. Students must be at least 17 years old.
2. Students must have passed with a total of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also have English as a standard 12 Standard.
3. Students must have a NEET exam Scorecard.

Duration of MBBS at Karnali Academy of Health Science

The duration of the MBBS course at Karnali Academy is 5 years and 6 months, including 5 years of frontal training and 6 months of compulsory internship.

Karnali Academy of Health Science Admission Process

To be admitted to KAHS, you need to go through the following steps:

2. For international students, there is an entrance exam that you have to qualify and then select based on the students’ performance.
