On February 5, 1975, Dr. Gen. Antonio Laperal and his wife Dr Daisy Moran Tamayo founded Perpetual help College of Rizal (PCHR). It initially offered the Bachelor of Nursing program with 700 students registered. In 1995 and 1996, campuses were set up located in Molina and Calamba respectively.

The Commission for Higher Education(CHED) gave the university status and in 2017, it granted the university autonomous status. This University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is a firm believer in the concept that “Character Building is Nation Building”. It is based on the principles of teaching, community service and research.
